TSCA Chemical Management Committee
The TSCA Chemical Management Committee addresses regulatory issues arising under the Toxic Substances Control Act and involving the use, storage, and disposal of chemicals in the course of utility operations. This work includes:
- Workshops, webinars, and other training resources on the use conditions and cleanup and disposal requirements for PCBs in electrical equipment, natural gas pipelines, building materials, and associated wastes.
- Advocacy on behalf of USWAG members on proposed rulemakings involving the PCB use and/or disposal regulations, and engagement with EPA on related guidance and policy issues.
- Member training and counseling on compliance obligations related to Chemical Data Reporting (CDR), significant new use rules (SNURs), and other TSCA provisions.
- Tracking of and engagement with EPA risk evaluation and risk management activities involving other chemicals of significance to utility operations.
- In-person and virtual meetings and workshops providing a forum for members to discuss compliance challenges and operational strategies associated with TSCA chemical management requirements for PCBs and other chemicals.
