Membership Options

USWAG offers one class of membership that conveys full privileges: General Membership. In addition, USWAG offers the Decommissioning Facility Membership and the Regulatory Compliance & Training Partners program, which provide access to select USWAG materials but does not convey full membership privileges, such as the ability to vote on any issue requiring USWAG member action or approval.

General Membership

The General Membership category is open to the following entities:

Operating Energy Companies — defined as investor-owned, cooperative or publicly-owned entities engaged in the generation/production, transmission, or distribution of electricity, natural gas, or other energy sources;
Holding Companies — defined as corporations in the United States having an ownership interest in one or more Operating Energy Companies; and
Trade Associations — defined as incorporated associations whose members consist of Operating Energy Companies.

Decommissioning Facility Membership (DFM)

Eligibility for entities to become Decommissioning Facility Members (DFM) is limited to:

Companies that purchase a utility site which has been engaged in the generation/production, transmission, or distribution of electricity, natural gas, or other energy sources, for purposes of decommissioning the site, including, but not limited to, brownfield development, closing and/or conducting corrective action for CCR units, and recovering CCR for beneficial use.

Regulatory Compliance & Training (RCT) Partners

Entities eligible to become RCT Partners include:

Cooperative or publicly-owned entities engaged in the generation/production, transmission, or distribution of electricity, natural gas, or other energy sources.

Statewide Electric Cooperative Associations and Joint Action Agencies consisting of individual cooperatives or municipal utilities could also become RCT Partners and will be able to share RCT Resources within their individual memberships.
