DOT Committee

The USWAG DOT Committee is responsible for addressing utility-specific matters relating to the DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMRs). The committee provides the following services:

  • A forum for member companies to interface with their peer utilities and PHMSA representatives.
  • Tracking of regulatory and legislative activities and, at times, development and submittal of stakeholder input and/or comments.
  • Compliance support and legal counseling on specific matters member companies may face.
  • Development of training materials (videos, quick guides, etc.) on nuanced topics such as materials of trade, special permits, etc.
